When you share a bathroom with Dinosaurs....

you know you are a mother of boys...when you find yourself sharing a kitchen table with a jar full of cicadas and crickets and getting excited about the discovery of a stick-like bug...you know you are the mother of boys...When you go anywhere in a public place and before even setting foot out of the car the repeat the following...no burping, no farting, no fighting, no yelling, no climbing, no running, etc etc...you know you are the mother of boys...when you pick up your digital camera only to find that somone has used it to take pictures of the toilet, his brothers butt, his own butt, the tires on the car, a few other unknown objects...then you must be the mother of boys...If you can answer yes to most of these questions, then I sympathize completely. God bless you :)

Beautiful bride....

Jennifer is easily one of the most beautiful brides I have seen. I had the pleasure of shooting some of her wedding today. They are such a cute couple, and their 3 yr old cracks me up. Didn't want to have a thing to do with me or my camera, lol, but boy does she love her carebear. I can tell that Jennifer and Dustin are great parents though and love her very much.

Looks like I am going to Tennesee next weekend to shoot a wedding for B's sister() I'm looking forward to getting away, although I have a ton of stuff to do before I leave ;)

4th grader....

My big kid...he is in the 4th grade now. I just find that crazy. I remember the days when it was just me and him, home all day together, my little shadow, toddling around asking every single question you could possibly imagine. Some things never change, he still constantly asks questions, they are just a little tougher now and most of the time he can answer them better than I can, lol. He loves the science channel, anything about bugs, animals, weather, how something is made, you name it. He still gives me hugs although they are fewer in number and I try to hold on a little tighter a little longer when I get one. He tries to parent his little brother, who does need looking after a lot more than most, and when asked Adam will say he is the "man" of the house, lol. The only way I can coerce him into taking pics is if he can have his bugs in the pictures. And many times he has his nose in that bug book, checking species. He is almost as tall as I am now, which being that I am short isn't really hard..but it is really weird.Time goes by fast doesn't it?

A Mish mash of thoughts...

I've got a busy next couple of months coming up. Thats good right? Yeah, I think so. Saturday morning the boys and I went to one of my favorite places...Cox Arboretum. I took 2 of my Kodak cameras for the boys to play with. If at any point you get the opportunity to let your children just shoot away with a camera, do it. Its wonderful to see what their eyes see. I havent finished uploading their pics yet, but I will post a few of mine. I love butterflies.Saturday night I had a ...for lack of a better name for it....Glamour Party. I invited some friends over, my makeup artist friend Gayla was kind enough to come and make everyone look beautiful. We had a good time. Everyone will get 4x6 prints of themselves in a little card when I am done finishing them up. In the meantime, here is a preview. I may be scarce some this week. Its a busy week and to top it off, sad news, there was a death in the family. My BIL's grandfather died. He was a very sweet man. I am sure everyone is going to miss him terribly, so if you could say a few prayers out there for the Cecil family that would be great!

Rainy Day

It's storming big time right now. I don't know why it is but I can't seem to get motivated on a rainy day. I have so much stuff to do, one of them being getting out to walmart sometime this afternoon, but there is just something not appealing about dragging the kids out in the rain to go to walmart *sigh* Just one pic of Jake today. There is something about the look in his eyes in this one. I look at him and I see all of the things I have done in my life, good things and bad. I totally see myself, and I can almost hear the things that rattle around in that brain of his, lol. He is so much like me its almost scary sometimes. Later!

Big families and creepy crawly things...

So the boys and I went on a hike the other day, and they decided they wanted to go crawldad hunting. Adam pulls out this HUGE, I mean HUGE dead crawldad from the creek and I thought I might actually barf, lol. It smelled so bad. I did get a pic of it, but don't want to put anyone else through the same torment. Jacob on the otherhand was told not to go out to deep, except that I got caught up taking pics of this cool spiderweb and the next thing I know I turn around and there he is way over knee deep. I should know better, he is quite the adventure child. School starts soon. I'm not quite sure what I will do with myself on my days off with both of them gone all day. I will be strangely quiet. I will have to fill my days up with more apppointments I guess. That would be ideal. Leaving you with some images of our adventure and also big family I had the pleasure of shooting last night. They were celebrating a wonderous event, my dear friend Heather finished her last treatment for breast cancer, and seems to be in the clear. All 15 of them rolled up in style in the limo so of course I had to get a shot of that. Til next time!
