A glimpse into the future

this boy loves to get "inked" It doesn't matter that right now it's just paint. You would think he was getting the real deal by the grin on his face. I can almost see him now, 18 yrs old coming home with his first tat :P

The boys and I went to the Celtic festival last night. The music was great, the food was good. Its so nice to see the city of Dayton come to life. The boys had the brilliant idea to go out in one of the paddle boats. They need to come with a warning label.....May Feel the Need to Kill Family In the Middle of River. I swear I never thought we would make it to shore. Between Adam and I trying to paddle against the current, to Jacob's horrid stearing us around in circles, lol. I had a flash back of my brother and I in a row boat at Indian Lake...I was 12, he was 7, and we just kept paddling paddling in circles and by the time we were done, it was a miracle we hadn't whacked each other in the head with the paddles. Where were my parents? On the shore laughing their butts off. Fast forward to last night...ah yes...this is why I do not get in boats with small creatures that call themselves my children.

Well anyway, we survived. Crisis averted. We made it back to shore just in time to see the crew speeding out to save another family that got stuck in the middle and couldnt make it back. Adam started laughing, and I said my dear...that was almost us,LOL.

Cause that's how they roll

Rock N Roll that is...This is my beautiful BFF Christine from long ago college days, High School, Middle School. We met in the 6th grade. For some perspective, Adam is getting ready to enter the 6th grade. Man, I suddenly feel really old, lol. She is getting married to the man of her dreams next July, and I was so excited when she asked me if I could be the one to shoot it. OF COURSE I WILL SHOOT YOUR WEDDING, woohoo :) Its so nice to see her so happy, and Greg definitely makes her happy.

So we did the engagement pics this past weekend. They have friends that own and are restoring an old mansion in Columbus, and were courteous enough to let us shoot there. This place is OFF THE HOOK. So much inspiration around every corner. And supposedly haunted too, although so far going through the images, I have not had any strange things appear in the photos yet :P

I had so much fun. We couldnt just do normal sit down smile shots for them, it just doesnt fit. Apparantly they are getting noticed in all sorts of places thanks to Christine, http://rocknrollbride.blogspot.com/2008/07/rockin-all-over-world.html which I think is super cool. Thanks Christine, love you!!! ROCK ON.

So..one more year older

although I don't feel like it. I've made a habit the last few years to just jump ahead a year when referring to my age, that way when I actually turn that age, its not such a shock :P So I am 32, and some days I still feel like I'm 12, and then some days I feel like I'm 62.
Your own mortality becomes very evident when those around you are dying or have had loved ones pass away. There's been way too much of that recently. I hope it stops for awhile....... OK so I totally didnt mean to post a big "wah me, I hate birthdays post" Suddenly thats what it has turned into. *smack smack* I actually had a good birthday today. John bought me a spa package, woowoo, which I cannot wait to use. My mom bought a cake (as you can see above) She knows I love Molly, so I got a Molly cake, and you see Molly back there eyeballing her cake replica, hehe. And she had the boys pick out some presents for me. They were very well behaved. Mostly because my mother threatened their little lives while I was at work. I didnt want a repeat of Mother's Day. (my mother's day was AWFUL) by the way, but that is a whole other post :D

This has been a great year for me so far, and I know its only going to get better. Cant wait for 33! ...NOT!!

Its that time of year again

Airshow time! Growing up here, you would think I would be sick of the planes, but having kids gives you a whole new outlook and you get to enjoy it once again. For the second year I had the opportunity to photograph the preview event for the Special Wish kids. I went for the first time last year and really had a blast so this year when they asked me again, I asked if I could bring the boys and they said it was ok. Adam was in heaven. Afterwards we went to the parade. Its funny how the Airshow always falls around my birthday. When I was little I thought they were throwing the parade for me :P
Oh and I almost forgot....while we were at the parade, there was a tv crew shooting the parade right in front of us. They got the boys on camera, sitting there smiling and waving. Im watching them ham it up and the next thing I know, jacob is yelling his fool head off "sharonelainephotography dot com!!! sharonelainephotography dot com!!!" What a kid ;)

We're back :)

from our mini vacation. Now I need a vacation from my vacation. Vacation with kids is work, lol. So we stayed at The Great Wolf Lodge, and I was thoroughly impressed. The kids absolutely loved it, and never wanted to leave. So much so, that I think next year if we go, that is all we will do, and skip Kings Island. We went to KI 2 days, and the whole first day all they did was whine and want to go back to the hotel,LOL. The last day, my sister came down and went to KI with us with her 2 boys. I havent been able to do anything like that with my sister in forever, so it was a lot of fun. Jake and Paul are like 2 peas in a pod, and spent most of the day with their arms around each other giving each other pep talks to ride the scary rides. Adam is a daredevil so theres no prblem getting him to ride anything...as a matter of fact when he was Jakes age, he and I bungee jumped together, but Jake is afraid of heights and the first day didnt want to ride anything, but the second day Paul talked him into almost anything, and they both rode The Vortex and Flight of Fear. I was in shock that he actually got on, but he said it was all because of Paul ;) Maybe Paul could go to school with him and talk him into doing his school work too, lol.

And so they grow...

despite my best efforts... all the little people seem to keep getting bigger :D Of course little miss Essie, is still teeny weeny to me...I keep telling Andrea she's too little to walk, but wouldn't you know the little booger wanted to do nothing but stand during her photo shoot. At least this time, I didnt put her to sleep the entire time.

Miss Remy...what can I say, she stole my heart again, and ran me ragged as always. We had fun discovering all kinds of creatures at Cox, and she was even brave enough to kiss that turtle...with mom close by anyway... she how much she's grown: http://sharonelainephotography.blogspot.com/2007_08_01_archive.html

and of course today, Miss Isabell...my blue eyed, brown haired beauty has become a fair haired green-eyed beauty. Its amazing how much she has transformed in a year https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxMA61vIz60tyrl3DGbPfP-9UKb5TPdz5gzxXaBwyJUawhN6s8dCrvEmykO28z3dMCKGuT_5JNasDtMoZblyV65L6lLCVH4r6yduH2-Lw1p9G2mA3kY24PF0sK8ThM7x-Y1aM8NQ/s1600-h/izzy1.jpg

The boys and I are leaving for a few days of fun and...well not exactly relaxation, but fun at least. I will return Friday....they might come back with me too depending on how well they behave. We'll see if they survive the trip ;)

On a side note, please say a little prayer for a little guy who needs it. My friend Karla's nephew was in an accident and I believe broke some bones in his neck. As far as I know he is doing a little better and hopefully will be coming home soon. The miraculous thing is that without the accident, they may not have done an MRI, and through the MRI they discovered he has a rare condition in which he will need surgery for very soon. So please say prayers for little Jake and his family. Thanks!
